{"id":989715,"date":"2026-08-08T21:14:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T21:14:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/989715\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T21:14:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T21:14:17","slug":"dallas-pedestrian-killed-by-suv-autonomous-vehicle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/989715\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas pedestrian killed by SUV, autonomous vehicle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/article\/pedestrian-killed-in-dallas-22279523.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pedestrian<\/a> died after an SUV struck him late Friday near <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/topic\/dallas\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas<\/a>\u2019 Medical District, sending him into the path of an unoccupied autonomous vehicle, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Officers were called about 11:30 p.m. to Maple Avenue and Lucas Drive. A preliminary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/public-safety\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">investigation <\/a>found that the man entered Maple Avenue and was struck by a southbound SUV. The impact sent him into the northbound lane, where the autonomous vehicle hit him, police said.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to a hospital, where he died. Authorities had not released his identity Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the SUV remained at the scene.
