Kate Middleton<\/a> is speaking out following her glaring absence from the Royal Ascot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Princess of Wales, 43, was expected to attend the annual horse race on Wednesday alongside Prince William<\/a>, King Charles, Queen Camilla and other royal family members. However, Middleton ended up pulling out last-minute.<\/p>\n

In a Friday message, Middleton showed her support during Children\u2019s Hospice Week, highlighting the work she has been busy doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo parent expects to hear that their child has a serious health condition that could shorten their life,\u201d the Princess wrote. \u201cSadly, this is the reality faced by thousands of families across the country, leaving them heartbroken, fearful of the future and often desperately isolated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing able to access the support of one of the U.K.\u2019s 54 children\u2019s hospices means they don\u2019t have to face that future alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Patron of East Anglia\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospices and T\u0177 Hafan Children\u2019s Hospice in South Wales, I have the immense privilege of seeing for myself the extraordinary work of our children\u2019s hospices,\u201d she continued. \u201cLifting spirits through laughter, fun and play, as well as listening, holding, caring and sharing, they support children and families through life, death and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

Middleton concluded her message with a note to the public, explaining: \u201cThis Children\u2019s Hospice Week, I hope you will join me in celebrating the life-changing work they do and thanking them for the vital care they provide to children and families experiencing the most challenging times.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Princess has been a stark advocate for kids hospice services since tying the knot with Prince William in 2011. Throughout her overseas tours, Middleton has also visited numerous hospices.<\/p>\n

In January, the royal visited\u00a0T\u0177 Hafan for the first time in Sully, South Wales, which was built with the support of Princess Diana.<\/p>\n

The director of family well-being services, Tracy Jones, said of the Princess\u2019 arrival: \u201cShe immediately gravitated to the children and families \u2014 she spent quality time talking to every child and their parents.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been the most inspiring visit,\u201d Jones continued. \u201cShe crouched down and was straightaway on the level of the children. If they were in a wheelchair, she crouched at that level. If they were on the floor, she would be at the level,\u201d she continues. \u201cWe were seriously impressed with how she could stay in a crouch, as it\u2019s not that comfortable!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe instinctively seemed to know where to touch a child that was going to provide the connection, but not cause any distress or startle a child. She was looking at the children, even if she was talking to the parent. It\u2019s what we do, as we\u2019re used to working with children who are nonverbal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite missing out on the Royal Ascot, Middleton joined the Prince of Wales, 42, and their three kids<\/a> \u2014 Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and\u00a0Prince Louis, 7 \u2014 for the annual\u00a0Trooping the Colour in London<\/a>\u00a0on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The family honored King Charles, 76, for the third year in a row.<\/p>\n

Middleton donned a sky blue coat \u201cBria\u201d dress by Catherine Walker and kept her hair pulled back into an elegant side bun beneath a flowered hat.<\/p>\n

Trooping the Colour is held every June to celebrate the official birthday of the British sovereign. The event is considered one of the royal family\u2019s most high-profile celebrations.<\/p>\n

Noticeably absent from the festivities were Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their kids Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.<\/p>\n

They were not invited to Trooping the Colour\u00a0<\/a>for the third year in a row,\u00a0People reported<\/a>, as their feud with the royal family continues.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the first year of his life that Harry hasn\u2019t been invited at all,\u201d palace insider\u00a0Richard Eden said<\/a>\u00a0in 2023. \u201cWith\u00a0Harry and Meghan, we\u2019ve always had a sort of \u2018will they, won\u2019t they\u2019 before every big royal occasion.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, it seems like the palace has tackled this this time by just not inviting them at all,\u201d he added. \u201cSo, you know, it\u2019s significant.\u201d<\/p>\n
