However, Middleton ended up pulling out last-minute.<\/p>\n<p>In a Friday message, Middleton showed her support during Children\u2019s Hospice Week, highlighting the work she has been busy doing.<\/p>\n<p>Kate Middleton reveals what she\u2019s been focused on the past week.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_10-0\">\u201cNo parent expects to hear that their child has a serious health condition that could shorten their life,\u201d the Princess wrote. \u201cSadly, this is the reality faced by thousands of families across the country, leaving them heartbroken, fearful of the future and often desperately isolated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_12-0\">\u201cBeing able to access the support of one of the U.K.\u2019s 54 children\u2019s hospices means they don\u2019t have to face that future alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Patron of East Anglia\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospices and T\u0177 Hafan Children\u2019s Hospice in South Wales, I have the immense privilege of seeing for myself the extraordinary work of our children\u2019s hospices,\u201d she continued. \u201cLifting spirits through laughter, fun and play, as well as listening, holding, caring and sharing, they support children and families through life, death and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Catherine, Princess of Wales paints the hand of Maggie aged 4 years old whose sibling is being treated at \u00a0T\u0177 Hafan, a children\u2019s hospice based in Sully. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Middleton concluded her message with a note to the public, explaining: \u201cThis Children\u2019s Hospice Week, I hope you will join me in celebrating the life-changing work they do and thanking them for the vital care they provide to children and families experiencing the most challenging times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Princess has been a stark advocate for kids hospice services since tying the knot with Prince William in 2011. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The director of family well-being services, Tracy Jones, said of the Princess\u2019 arrival: \u201cShe immediately gravitated to the children and families \u2014 she spent quality time talking to every child and their parents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_28-0\">\u201cIt\u2019s been the most inspiring visit,\u201d Jones continued. \u201cShe crouched down and was straightaway on the level of the children. If they were in a wheelchair, she crouched at that level. If they were on the floor, she would be at the level,\u201d she continues. \u201cWe were seriously impressed with how she could stay in a crouch, as it\u2019s not that comfortable!\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_30-0\">\u201cShe instinctively seemed to know where to touch a child that was going to provide the connection, but not cause any distress or startle a child. She was looking at the children, even if she was talking to the parent. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Despite missing out on the Royal Ascot, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/14\/entertainment\/princess-kate-stuns-in-sky-blue-as-she-appears-at-trooping-the-colour-with-william-charles-and-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Middleton joined the Prince of Wales, 42, and their three kids<\/a> \u2014 Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and\u00a0Prince Louis, 7 \u2014 for the annual\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/14\/entertainment\/trooping-the-colour-2025-why-this-years-ceremony-is-a-defining-moment-for-king-charles-and-the-royals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trooping the Colour in London<\/a>\u00a0on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The family honored King Charles, 76, for the third year in a row.<\/p>\n<p>Middleton donned a sky blue coat \u201cBria\u201d dress by Catherine Walker and kept her hair pulled back into an elegant side bun beneath a flowered hat.<\/p>\n<p>Kate Middleton at Trooping the Colour.
