Author Mallary Tenore Tarpley will appear at Interabang Books<\/a> on Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. to discuss her new book, Slip: Life in the Middle of Eating Disorder Recovery. <\/p>\n

\""Slip:“Slip: Life in the Middle of Eating Disorder Recovery” by Mallary Tenore Tarpley is due out in stores Aug. 5.(S&S\/Simon Element)<\/p>\n

In the book, the journalist and professor at the University of Texas-Austin chronicles her own struggles with anorexia and her recovery from the disorder. She interviewed hundreds of patients and doctors \u2014 many from the Dallas area \u2014 to gain a deeper understanding of eating disorders and their treatment. <\/p>\n

Tarpley will have a conversation with Dallas Morning News staff writer Sarah Hepola<\/a>, followed by an audience Q-and-A and book signing. The event is free to attend. <\/p>\n
