Baby sea turtles have a rough start to life. As tiny as they are, they must make it from their nest all the way to the ocean without getting stepped on, lost, or eaten. CtheWorld (@mmm21980) spotted one baby sea turtle exactly where he wasn’t supposed to be\u2014heading in the opposite direction of the water.<\/p>\n
Fortunately, the couple immediately leaped into rescue mode and made it their personal mission to get him where he needed to be. The little guy flapped his tiny flippers in protest, but that didn’t stop them from helping him reach his new ocean home.<\/p>\n
What makes this rescue even more incredible is just how far the tiny turtle had traveled. CtheWorld explained that they “found him 0.1 miles from the beach headed in the wrong direction. He crawled up the sand dunes, down into the parking lot, across A1A (beachfront avenue), and down our street. This little guy is a fighter!”<\/p>\n

Most of the reactions were positive, but a few people criticized the couple for stepping in.<\/p>\n CtheWorld wasn’t having it, though, and quickly responded. “We checked with local wildlife<\/a> officials and the Sea Turtle Conservancy, and they confirmed that what we did was appropriate. FWC encourages people to move hatchlings back to the ocean<\/a> if they’re in immediate danger.
