{"id":991797,"date":"2026-08-09T21:39:04","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T21:39:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/991797\/"},"modified":"2026-08-09T21:39:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T21:39:04","slug":"old-texas-mall-set-for-demolition-and-transformation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/991797\/","title":{"rendered":"Old Texas mall set for demolition and transformation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ramrock Real Estate LLC has acquired Ridgmar Mall, located at 1888 Green Oaks Road in Fort Worth, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/business\/retail\/article\/fort-worth-mall-acquired-turned-logistics-center-22376104.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">as first reported by the Dallas Morning News.<\/a> Ramrock, a Dallas-based private equity firm, also announced plans to redevelop the site as a six-building, 931,000-square-foot logistics hub.<\/p>\n<p>Ramrock is developing the project, known as Ridgmar 30 Logistics Crossing, alongside Dallas-based Lincoln Property Company and Seattle-based KBC Advisors. While some of the stores are expected to remain open in the short term, ultimately the mall will be demolished, a spokesperson with KBC Advisors Texas told the Morning News.<\/p>\n<p>Ramrock, Lincoln Property Co. and KBC Advisors did not immediately respond to Chron&#8217;s request for comment by the time of publication.<\/p>\n<p>Ridgmar Mall first opened 50 years ago as Fort Worth&#8217;s first fully-enclosed mall, anchored by a Dillard&#8217;s, Sears, JCPenney and Neiman Marcus.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The mall was one of the city&#8217;s primary shopping destinations in the 1980s and 1990s, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.star-telegram.com\/news\/business\/fort-worth\/article315264051.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram<\/a>. Its decline accelerated in the 2010s as major retailers began closing and customer traffic dwindled.<\/p>\n<p>Today, most of the mall&#8217;s major anchor stores have shuttered, leaving large portions of the property vacant. The\u00a0JCPenney onsite is set to permanently close on Nov. 1.<\/p>\n<p>An exact timeline has yet to be released.<\/p>\n<p>Demolition of the 1.2 million-square-foot mall could begin within the next 12 to 18 months, <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworth.culturemap.com\/news\/real-estate\/ridgmar-mall-demolition-logistics-center\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">developers told\u00a0CultureMap<\/a>.
