After a series of polls showing former IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud tied, with Yashar sometimes predicted to be the largest party, public broadcaster Kan published a poll Sunday showing that Netanyahu has retaken the lead.<\/p>\n

Jewish parties opposed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gained three seats in the poll, for a total of 56. The bloc would still fall short of a majority in the 120-seat Knesset without the support of Arab parties.<\/p>\n

Parties in Netanyahu’s governing coalition gained one seat, to 53, after the Zionist Home party, led by Yoaz Hendel and Chili Tropper, failed to cross the electoral threshold.<\/p>\n

After Netanyahu’s Likud gained one seat to become the largest party with 24 seats, according to the poll. Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar held steady at 23. <\/p>\n

Naftali Bennett’s Together party remained the third-largest list with 13 seats. The Democrats gained two seats to reach 10, while Yisrael Beiteinu gained one, also reaching 10.<\/p>\n

Otzma Yehudit lost one seat and was projected to win eight. Shas and United Torah Judaism each held steady at eight.<\/p>\n

The United Arab List gained one seat to reach six, while Religious Zionism gained one to reach five. Hadash-Ta’al lost one seat and was projected to win five. <\/p>\n

As in several recent polls<\/a>, Balad and Blue and White failed to cross the electoral threshold, along with Zionist Home. The party led by Gilad Erdan and Yuli Edelstein also failed to clear the threshold in the latest survey.<\/p>\n

The poll was conducted by the Kantar Institute, headed by Dudi Hassid, among 551 respondents. The margin of error was 4.2 percentage points.<\/p>\n
