{"id":993526,"date":"2026-08-10T21:15:19","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T21:15:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/993526\/"},"modified":"2026-08-10T21:15:19","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T21:15:19","slug":"san-antonios-gold-feather-locket-out-over-unpaid-rent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/993526\/","title":{"rendered":"San Antonio&#8217;s Gold Feather locket out over unpaid rent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After more than a decade, what was once one of San Antonio\u2019s buzziest restaurants is no more. <a href=\"https:\/\/order.toasttab.com\/online\/singhs\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Singhs Vietnamese<\/a> has closed its remaining locations at 114 UTSA Boulevard and 2803 N. St. Mary&#8217;s St.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the month, the restaurant took to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Dbi_JX1RW07\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">social media<\/a> to say the locations would be closed between August 3-5. After neither outpost reopened, commenters soon began speculating that Singhs was gone for good. Site visits confirmed no signs of life at either location.<\/p>\n<p>Founders Eric Trevi\u00f1o and Louis Singh first opened Singhs as a North Side food truck before <a href=\"https:\/\/sanantonio.culturemap.com\/news\/restaurants-bars\/08-24-18-singhs-vietnamese-food-tuck-new-restaurant-st-marys-strip-san-antonio\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">taking the leap<\/a> to a St. Mary\u2019s Strip brick-and-mortar in 2018. Since then, it has become one of Alamo City\u2019s most popular restaurants for b\u00fan, rice bowls, b\u00e1nh m\u00ec, and Winghs \u2014 its signature fried chicken wings tossed in Thai chili butter with sesame seeds, sliced jalape\u00f1o, lime, and cilantro.<\/p>\n<p>Following the debut, it suffered a variety of business challenges, first COVID-19 lockdowns, then ongoing road construction disruptions on the St. Mary\u2019s Strip. In 2021, two cars crashed into its building within six months.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, however, Singhs has been on a growth trajectory. In May 2025, it returned to its original North Side stomping ground to open <a href=\"https:\/\/sanantonio.culturemap.com\/news\/restaurants-bars\/singhs-vietnamese-opens-new-cantina\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Singhs Cantina<\/a>, a more bar-forward version of the main business. The cold-pressed juice company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/glowers_sa\/?hl=en\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Glowers<\/a> replaced the business earlier in 2026. In January, Singhs <a href=\"https:\/\/sanantonio.culturemap.com\/news\/restaurants-bars\/singhs-vietnamese-opening-northwest-side\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">took over<\/a> the former home of Noodle Tree near UTSA.<\/p>\n<p>Although Singhs has not made a formal statement on any of its channels, Trevi\u00f1o did confirm to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/food\/article\/singhs-vietnamese-san-antonio-22381678.php\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">MySA<\/a> that the move was permanent.
