It’s all about the tunes and the views.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Rooftop at Pier 17 is now in its eighth season at South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan, welcoming an eclectic mix of acts to the outdoor concert venue.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It’s an intimate venue, it’s 3,500 person cap, usually a standing room, there’s not a bad view,” said Tyler Jones, senior vice president of operations at The Rooftop.<\/p>\n
The view is of the band, and everything around the venue from the Brooklyn Bridge to the Statue of Liberty to the Empire State Building and beyond.<\/p>\n
Jones says they’ve been able to attract acts on the rise at Pier 17 that have gone on to stardom.<\/p>\n
“People like Noah Kahan have been here, and now they are selling out The Garden, and Billie Eilish has been here, so we get a lot of up-and-coming artists, and you should definitely come see them before they blow up,” Jones said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Coming up this season into October are Yacht Rock Revue, Max Max McNown, Levi, Rise Against, Modest Mouse, San Holo and 3BallMTY. Jones says bands love the venue just as much as the fans do.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year, Trombone Shorty was here for the fifth time, Yacht Rock continues to return, Greensky Bluegrass is here,\u00a0J.Rad is coming back again for a third time, so a lot of repeat artists, they love to see it, they love to play here,” Jones said.<\/p>\n
Jones says even if you don\u2019t know an artist, visitors should come see a show \u2014 and they will fall in love with them and the venue.<\/p>\n
