{"id":994803,"date":"2026-08-11T17:39:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T17:39:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/994803\/"},"modified":"2026-08-11T17:39:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T17:39:15","slug":"possession-remake-release-date-set-by-paramount","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/994803\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Possession&#8217; Remake Release Date Set By Paramount"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paramount has set a release date for its remake of the 1981 cult horror film\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/possession\/\" id=\"auto-tag_possession\" data-tag=\"possession\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Possession<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0Smile\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/parker-finn\/\" id=\"auto-tag_parker-finn\" data-tag=\"parker-finn\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Parker Finn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The film, starring <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/callum-turner\/\" id=\"auto-tag_callum-turner\" data-tag=\"callum-turner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Callum Turner<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/margaret-qualley\/\" id=\"auto-tag_margaret-qualley\" data-tag=\"margaret-qualley\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Margaret Qualley<\/a>, will open wide in theaters on June 11, 2027. It\u2019s set to open against Universal Pictures\u2019\u00a0How to Train Your Dragon 2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Written and directed by Andrzej \u017bu\u0142awski, the original\u00a0Possession\u00a0starred Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill as a married couple in Cold War-era West Berlin whose relationship spirals into supernatural terror. A landmark of arthouse genre cinema, the film won Adjani the prize for Best Actress at Cannes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turner and Qualley will star as the couple in this version, with Diego Calva, Madeline Brewer, Emory Cohen, Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Paul Dano rounding out the cast. Finn is directing from his own script and producing alongside Jonathan Fass via Bad Feeling, along with Roy Lee and Andrew Childs via Vertigo, and Robert Pattinson. Marc Bienstock is serving as exec producer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One week prior to\u00a0Possession, on June 4, Columbia Pictures unveils its JT Mollner horror film\u00a0Skeletons, starring Brie Larson, opposite Lionsgate\u2019s\u00a0John Rambo.
