{"id":994971,"date":"2026-08-11T22:57:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T22:57:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/994971\/"},"modified":"2026-08-11T22:57:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T22:57:17","slug":"danny-danon-to-un-jewish-communities-in-west-bank-will-remain-grow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/994971\/","title":{"rendered":"Danny Danon to UN: Jewish communities in West Bank will remain, grow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Israel\u2019s Ambassador to the UN, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-903921\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Danny Danon<\/a>, reaffirmed that Jewish communities in the West Bank would remain and continue to grow, rejecting claims that they are obstacles to peace during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-903301\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">United Nations<\/a> Security Council meeting on the situation in the West Bank on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Security Council must understand a simple truth: We are not going anywhere. Jewish communities will stay in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-904902\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Judea and Samaria<\/a>,\u201d Danon said in a video posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/diaspora\/antisemitism\/article-902931\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jewish communities<\/a> are not temporary outposts, nor obstacles to peace,\u201d he continued. \u201cThey are permanent homes, thriving neighborhoods where families live. Judea and Samaria is where our people\u2019s eternal connection to the Land of Israel began.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Danon also accused the Security Council of applying a double standard by focusing on Israeli \u201csettler violence\u201d while, he argued, failing to give similar attention to hundreds of Palestinian terrorist attacks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cWhen Israelis are involved, this body uses a collective label, \u2018settler violence.\u2019 But when Palestinian radicals carry out attacks, you refer only to the ones responsible,\u201d Danon told the council.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cThat is not justice. That is prejudice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Danon also invoked the Jewish people\u2019s historical and biblical connection to the West Bank in defending their right to live in the territory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cOur right to live in our land is based on our historical connection to it. It is described in the Torah,\u201d Danon said. \u201cJudea and Samaria is where our story in the Land of Israel began.
