We are just four months away from the premiere of\u00a0 Guillermo del Toro\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0Netflix movie\u00a0Frankenstein<\/strong>, which will be coming to life on the streaming service in November 2025<\/strong>. While you wait, Vanity Fair<\/a> ran a massive preview piece this morning with brand new images.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are just doing a beautiful mass. The church is not built by us, but we are delivering a great, passionate soul-searing sermon in that church,\u201d Del Toro teases in his interview with Vanity Fair. \u201c[Boris] Karloff looms eternal. Bernie [Wrightston] looms eternal. But we are not doing Karloff and we\u2019re not doing Bernie, and we\u2019re not doing Mary [Shelley].\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I\u2019ll say this,\u201d he continues. \u201cMary Shelley and Bernie Wrightson and Karloff are as important to me as my father and mother. They gave birth to who I am, period.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is, for me, the culmination of a journey that has occupied most of my life. I first read\u00a0Mary Shelley\u2018s\u00a0Frankenstein\u00a0as a kid and saw\u00a0Boris Karloff in what became for me an almost religious state. Monsters have become my personal belief system,\u201d the Academy Award-winning filmmaker told the audience at Netflix\u2019s recent Tudum event.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are strands of\u00a0Frankenstein\u00a0throughout my films \u2014\u00a0Cronos, Blade, Hellboy, big time on\u00a0Pinocchio, and a long, long et cetera. Exploring the relationship between humanity and monsters, creator and creation, father and son, has consumed my stores again and again,\u201d del Toro continued. \u201cI wanted to make this film before even I had a camera, and I\u2019ve been actively pursuing it now for over 25 years It has grown so close to me that now it\u2019s biography.\u201d<\/p>\n

The film follows brilliant but egotistical scientist Victor Frankenstein, who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Oscar Isaac<\/strong>\u00a0(Dune) stars in Del Toro\u2019s movie as mad scientist Victor Frankenstein,\u00a0Jacob Elordi<\/strong>\u00a0(Saltburn) as Frankenstein\u2019s monster,\u00a0Mia Goth<\/strong>\u00a0(MaXXXine) as Elizabeth Lavenza, and\u00a0Christoph Waltz<\/strong>\u00a0(Inglourious Basterds) as Dr. Pretorius.<\/p>\n

Felix Kammerer<\/strong>\u00a0(All Quiet on the Western Front),\u00a0Lars Mikkelsen<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cAhsoka\u201d),\u00a0David Brad<\/strong>ley<\/strong>\u00a0(Harry Potter),\u00a0Christian Convery<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cSweet Tooth\u201d),\u00a0Ralph Ineson<\/strong>\u00a0(The Witch), and\u00a0Charles Dance<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cGame of Thrones\u201d) round out the cast.<\/p>\n

Del Toro\u2019s\u00a0Frankenstein\u00a0is rated \u201cR\u201d for \u201cbloody violence and grisly images<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n
