A \u201ctraumatized\u201d Queens couple discovered a stranger lounging in their apartment while they were on vacation \u2014 thanks, they claim, to the luxury building\u2019s doorman<\/a> who handed the intruder the keys.<\/p>\n

Bill and Yelim Kim were away from their posh Purves Street Long Island City apartment on July 24 when they got a ping from their home-security system informing them that there was somebody in their home.<\/p>\n

When they looked at the camera\u2019s live feed, what they saw was horrifying \u2014 a woman traipsing about their apartment, helping herself to a drink and chilling out on their couch.<\/p>\n

Yelim told The Post that \u201cit was panic, panic, panic\u201d after seeing the startling sight on the last night of their trip to Yellowstone National Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in disbelief. I just could not believe what I was seeing,\u201d Bill told FOX 5<\/a>. \u201cWe can\u2019t help or wonder, what would she have done if we didn\u2019t catch her on camera?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

But then their stomachs dropped even further \u2014 the woman found the camera watching her<\/a> and ripped it off the bookshelf where it stood, terrifying footage shows. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf we didn\u2019t have a security camera set up, would she have just stayed?\u201d an incredulous Bill said. \u201cThis was almost 11 p.m. at night. Would she have slept in our bed?\u201d<\/p>\n

Instead of relaxing after a long day, the couple\u2019s final night of vacation \u201cgot completely derailed,\u201d Bill told The Post Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

He said they screen-recorded the mortifying ordeal and had to \u201cspend several hours calling the police and calling our friends\u201d from their yurt in the national park.<\/p>\n

Yelim called the local precinct and had to \u201cconvince\u201d the cops that it wasn\u2019t a prank, she said.<\/p>\n

Two of the couple\u2019s friends arrived at the ritzy Long Island City building before police showed up and one of the pals knocked on the couple\u2019s door to confront the intruder.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was incredibly stupid and brave for him to do that,\u201d Yelim said of her friend.<\/p>\n

The squatter was asked to leave, which she did, but reappeared a few minutes later and used a set of keys to let herself back in.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy friend sees her fumbling through keys in her hand. So there was more than one [set of keys], and she uses one of them to open the door and come in,\u201d Yelim added.<\/p>\n

Shortly after going back into the apartment,\u00a0 police showed up and the woman was taken away in an ambulance.<\/p>\n

Building management later said in an email to tenants that the woman posed as a dogwalker for the Kims and was let up to the apartment<\/a> by a doorman, according to emails cited by The Post.<\/p>\n

That doorman was removed from the property and security measures are being enhanced.<\/p>\n

Those measures apparently worked, as the woman even reappeared two days after the initial incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She claimed she was there to see someone and tried to get in \u2014 but was turned away.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were scared. I had like a full stomach ache when I saw her,\u201d Yelim said. \u201cI just, I could not believe that she was back here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yelim said that the woman was wearing the same dress and heels from the initial ordeal and \u201clooked really distressed\u201d when they saw her in the lobby.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Kims claimed a doorman at their building handed over their apartment keys to the stranger while they were away. William Miller<\/p>\n

The woman was also wearing a hospital bracelet and that \u201cit seemed like she got discharged from the hospital and just came straight [back],\u201d Bill said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She has not been identified or charged with anything, but the NYPD is investigating the case as a burglary.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The couple said none of their belongings were stolen.<\/p>\n

Despite the response, the Kims are not feeling much reassurance.<\/p>\n

Bill said they feel \u201cterrible\u201d being back in their apartment. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t feel like a safe space for us anymore,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yelim added that she \u201cdefinitely feels violated.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m freaking traumatized. I don\u2019t know how else to, you know, describe it,\u201d said Yelim.<\/p>\n

The couple, who were due to renew their lease in September, said they are \u201cfrantically\u201d looking for another apartment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t be here anymore,\u201d Bill added.<\/p>\n
