{"id":99573,"date":"2025-07-28T14:29:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T14:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/99573\/"},"modified":"2025-07-28T14:29:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T14:29:11","slug":"oak-cliffs-taco-y-vino-to-expand-into-vibrant-square-in-dallas-suburb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/99573\/","title":{"rendered":"Oak Cliff\u2019s Taco y Vino to expand into vibrant square in Dallas suburb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Cozy Oak Cliff restaurant Taco y Vino is taking its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/07\/21\/where-to-find-inexpensive-restaurant-food-dallas-fort-worth\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/07\/21\/where-to-find-inexpensive-restaurant-food-dallas-fort-worth\/\">affordably priced food and wine<\/a> and expanding to downtown Garland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The second location for Taco y Vino is expected to open in August 2025, according to co-owner Jimmy Contreras. Construction crews have exposed the brick on the inside and outside of a 1920s-era building that will carry the same small, comfortable charm as the Oak Cliff original. They\u2019re almost identical in size, too: 1,300 square feet there, 1,400 square feet here.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Contreras has considered expanding his 7-year-old restaurant since 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic squashed his original plan to take Taco y Vino to Carrollton. Pool \/ Staff Photographer)<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Contreras spent much of his career as a restaurant consultant for sizable chains like Pappas, the Texas company that operates Pappadeaux and Pappasito\u2019s. When he struck out on his own, opening Taco y Vino with co-owner Brian White, Contreras said he wanted to be visible in his own restaurant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m a big fan of going to places where you see the owners,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Taco y Vino\u2019s menu and wine list will remain relatively the same at the new Garland location. The date night package \u2014 six tacos and a bottle of wine for $50 \u2014 is one of its specialties.
