The New York Giants veteran went down in a concerning fashion during a training camp session on Sunday.

Despite not making contact with anybody, Ford-Wheaton went down, and struggled to get back up without assistance. Non-contact injuries rarely result in good news. This situation was no different.

Ford-Wheaton suffered a torn Achilles, according to reports. He is headed for the injured reserve and is unlikely to play at all during the 2025 NFL season.

On Sunday, Ford-Wheaton took to social media to release a statement on his latest setback. He signed with the Giants for his rookie season.

Although Ford-Wheaton looked forward to potentially cracking the Giants’ final roster during his rookie effort, he ended up on the injured reserve instead. During the 2023 preseason, Ford-Wheaton suffered a torn ACL. He missed his entire rookie season.

Last season, Ford-Wheaton finally made his debut with the Giants. He garnered just two snaps on the offensive side of the ball. He served New York as a special-teams player, logging 78 percent of his snaps there in 14 games.

For the second time in three seasons, Ford-Wheaton will miss the entire year.
