GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A suspect is dead after Glendale police officers were involved in a shooting and a violent standoff Wednesday afternoon, officials said.<\/p>\n

Officers were called out to a house on Nicolet Avenue, north of Glendale Avenue<\/a>, near 75th Avenue, because a man violated an order of protection and was trespassing around noon, police said.<\/p>\n

The suspect\u2019s adult daughter called 911 and was scared, police told Arizona\u2019s Family.<\/p>\n

Police said the man and daughter share the house but the man is not supposed to be there.<\/p>\n

When the first officers knocked on the door, he gave them a hard time, and that\u2019s when the standoff started. A police spokesperson said the man was \u201cvery anti-police\u201d and had weapons at the house.<\/p>\n

Eventually, SWAT was called to clear the home, investigators said. When the team arrived, the man would not come out. Police said the suspect shot at officers with his rifle.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were met with gunfire at every opportunity,\u201d a police spokesman said.<\/p>\n

Investigators said the gunshots damaged two police cars and the man shot down two drones. The gunfire also heavily damaged a SWAT vehicle.<\/p>\n

One officer suffered minor injuries.<\/p>\n

Just before 9 p.m., police said the suspect was dead. Investigators did not say if he shot himself or if police shot him.<\/p>\n

This marks the 30th officer-involved shooting in the Phoenix area and the 55th police shooting in the state so far this year, according to Arizona\u2019s Family numbers.<\/p>\n
