{"id":998046,"date":"2026-08-13T11:46:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T11:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/998046\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T11:46:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T11:46:15","slug":"amnewyork-law-on-the-docket-profiles-of-people-and-firms-making-moves-august-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/998046\/","title":{"rendered":"amNewYork Law On the Docket: Profiles of people and firms making moves, August 13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to The Docket, <a href=\"https:\/\/amny.com\/law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">amNewYork Law\u2019<\/a>s weekly column focused on the movers and shakers in New York\u2019s legal community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Paul, Weiss adds capital markets partners to NY office<\/p>\n<p>Peter Byrne and Tristan VanDeventer have joined <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulweiss.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton &amp; Garrison LLP<\/a> as New York partners in the Capital Markets Group within the Corporate Department.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As announced, Byrne and VanDeventer advise public and private companies, private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, and underwriters on a wide range of public and private capital markets offerings and transactions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeter and Tristan have broad experience across capital markets transactions, which will be very valuable to our clients,\u201d said Angelo Bonvino, global head of the Paul, Weiss Corporate Department. \u201cAt a time when demand for sophisticated capital markets advice is increasing, Peter and Tristan further strengthen our bench in this area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Byrne will advise public and private companies and financial institutions on a broad range of capital markets matters, including IPOs, secondary and follow-on equity offerings, debt offerings, debt exchange offers, tender offers and PIPE offerings. He has previously represented quantum computing companies Infleqtion, Xanadu Quantum Technologies and IQM Quantum Computers in their going public processes by way of de-SPAC and concurrent PIPE financings; Cerberus Capital Management on its strategic investment in Eos Energy; Lexeo Therapeutics on its IPO; and Braze on its IPO.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Byrne earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.\n<\/p>\n<p>VanDeventer, meanwhile, is focused on a range of capital markets transactions, encompassing IPOs and follow-on offerings, including sponsor-backed IPOs; high-yield and investment grade debt offerings; convertible and exchangeable note offerings; PIPE transactions; and liability management transactions. Sheppard said in its announcement that Cyrulnik brings years of experience in handling high-stakes disputes involving commercial properties, development projects and complex ownership structures as a trial lawyer. <br \/>\u201cClients rely on Kevin to guide them through their most consequential disputes,\u201d said Luca Salvi, chair of Sheppard. \u201cHis practice complements our existing strengths in complex commercial disputes and further elevates the prominence of our litigation practice in New York and nationally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cyrulnik has represented clients in a wide range of high-stakes disputes, including Amzak Capital Management in litigation involving ownership interests in a portfolio of buildings valued in the hundreds of millions; Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation in litigation involving Class A real estate assets across the nation; and one of the country\u2019s largest chicken producers in matters arising from the U.S. Department of Justice\u2019s high-profile investigation into alleged price fixing in the poultry industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSheppard offers a premier national litigation practice with the industry depth and experience to handle the complex, bet-the-company disputes my clients litigate,\u201d said Cyrulnik. \u201cThe firm\u2019s reputation and its culture are what drew me here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cyrulnik earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Yeshiva University and his J.D. from Yale Law School.\n<\/p>\n<p>Greenberg Traurig adds shareholder to NY office<\/p>\n<p>Brian Helweil marks the recent addition to the global law firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gtlaw.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Greenberg Traurig<\/a>, joining its global real estate practice as a shareholder.<\/p>\n<p>Helweil arrived at the firm after a stint at Loeb &amp; Loeb LLP, where he represented owners, developers, investors, landlords, and tenants in a broad range of real estate transactions.
