Development Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>Home developments are reaching <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/topic\/burleson\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Burleson<\/a> and stand to transform a city that is ready to grow on its terms.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-channels-pixel.ex.co\/events\/0012000001fxZm9AAE?integrationType=DEFAULT&amp;template=design%2Farticle%2Fplatypus_two_column.tpl\" alt=\"\" class=\"x1px y1px vh abs\" aria-hidden=\"true\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The construction of Burleson\u2019s first master-planned community is underway. R.A. Development Ltd., a Burleson-based company, has been intentional about when and where they build, said Justin Bond, the company&#8217;s chief operations officer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our backyard, our hometown,\u201d Bond said. \u201cAnd because of the partnership that we had with the city and the way they wanted to see growth happen over here on the west side of town, we&#8217;ve really been able, in the last five years, to make this a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>R.A. Development is building <a href=\"https:\/\/chisholmsummit.com\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chisholm Summit<\/a>, a 800-acre project with about 2,500 homes, Bond said. Burleson has called the project its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.burlesontx.com\/2309\/Chisholm-Summit\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first master-planned community<\/a> and more developments are on their way. The projects follow a conscious effort by the city to work with\u00a0housing developments.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Chisholm Summit is west of downtown Burleson, near the intersection of the Chisholm Trail Parkway and FM 1902. R.A. Development is building phases one through three of Chisholm Summit, which will account for nearly 400 homes, along with a new 10-acre park and a couple of miles of trails, Bond said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>New homes will be under construction during the first and second quarter of 2027 and people could move in by the summer of 2027, Bond said. Roads will be paved this fall and underground wet utilities have been completed.<\/p>\n<p>Home prices will range from the low $400,000s to the $600,000s, depending on market conditions, Bond said. Bloomfield Homes, David Weekley Homes,\u00a0Bransom Homes and Graham Hart\u00a0are builders on the project. Bond said builders have been confident in the Chisholm Summit development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe think\u00a0Burleson is an area that may not be top of the map for folks that look at, let&#8217;s say northeast Dallas or Collin County,\u201d Bond said. \u201cBut the community here is something that we&#8217;re proud of and we see builders really aligning with us on that thought.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Chisholm\u00a0Summit will be\u00a0Burleson's first master-planned community. Development Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>Burleson is also receiving another master-planned development along the Chisholm Trail Parkway. <a href=\"https:\/\/lifeattallgrass.com\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tallgrass<\/a> is a $1 billion project that will include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.burlesontx.com\/2916\/Tallgrass-Master-Planned-Community\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">approximately 4,000 new homes<\/a>, according to city documents.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The development was approved by Burleson City Council in October 2025 and construction is set to begin this year. Tallgrass representatives didn\u2019t respond to a request for comment for this article.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Burleson is a city with a population of about 57,000 people, according to 2025 Census estimates. Adding 2,500 homes through Chisholm Summit could mean about 10,000 or more people come to the city, Bond said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>When you add in communities like\u00a0Tallgrass and other potential developments, that could mean a whole other Burleson, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Initial home construction for Chisholm Summit\u00a0is set to take place\u00a0in 2027. Other developments like Tallgrass are also coming to the Burleson area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>R.A. Development Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>Chisholm Summit and Tallgrass are both projects that will develop over the course of about 20 years, said Alex Philips, Burleson\u2019s economic development director. When these developments are fully built out, the projects could have added 20,000 more people to the city, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Burleson still wants to keep a small town feel as it grows. Philips said that means the little things, like still having parades through downtown. Planning for development and more people means investing in infrastructure like roadways along with water and sewer, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>The city worked with the\u00a0Chisholm Summit developers for a decade prior to announcing the development, Philips said. For Tallgrass, the city reached out to a property near Chisholm Summit to discuss what was happening next door and to see if they were exploring developing their property, which led to a development agreement. Philips said some of the city\u2019s priorities included incorporating trails and parks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing a suburb of Fort Worth, we&#8217;re always going to be growing as long as the metroplex is growing, we\u2019re going to be growing,\u201d Philips said. \u201cBut we want to grow in our own way, and be very intentional of building relationships and connecting with people that still hold those same core values of being part of a community, than just trying to get anybody and everybody into town.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Chisholm\u00a0Summit is an upcoming master-planned development in\u00a0Burleson.
