noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wednesday\u2019s total solar eclipse<\/a> sparked your excitement for viewing a stellar spectacle, pull on your traveling boots and start booking accommodations.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag45000g356rkxn6rtma@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            A multitude of total solar eclipses will occur across far-flung locales over the next decade \u2014 and next year\u2019s celestial event promises to be one of the best yet.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag46000h356rrdt1xlpo@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            A total solar eclipse occurring on August 2, 2027, is \u201cthe one to be at because it will actually be the longest eclipse in the remainder of our lifetimes,\u201d said Dr. Ryan French, solar astrophysicist at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics in Boulder, Colorado, and coauthor of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ryanjfrench.com\/books\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Little Book of Eclipses<\/a>.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag46000i356rbso1mort@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Totality, or when the moon\u2019s shadow completely blocks the sun\u2019s face from view, will last up to more than six minutes.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag46000j356r9pgg0wn7@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The path of totality will cross southern Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Yemen, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nso.edu\/eclipse-map-2027-aug2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">National Solar Observatory<\/a>.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag46000k356rbtl4iwsu@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The eclipse will pass directly over the Valley of the Kings in Luxor and the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, as well as Mecca in Saudi Arabia, French said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag46000l356re23g3wp6@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cCrucially, the weather in August all the way along the eclipse path is pretty much guaranteed to be sunny because a lot of it is desert,\u201d French added.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag46000m356r8uyu5vbg@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Meanwhile, a partial eclipse, when only some of the sun\u2019s light is blocked and it appears more like a crescent, will be visible from most of Europe, much of Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, as well as eastern Canada and northern Maine in North America, according to NASA.\n    <\/p>\n<p>       <img decoding=\"async\" United States will next glimpse a total solar eclipse on <a href=\"https:\/\/eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov\/SEdecade\/SEdecade2031.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">March 30, 2033<\/a>, and even then the Russia-centric path includes only Alaska, with totality lasting 2 minutes and 37 seconds. A partial solar eclipse will shine over most of the country during that celestial event.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag47000p356rvlqxobjw@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Much has been said about the fact that a total solar eclipse won\u2019t be visible again from the contiguous United States until <a href=\"https:\/\/eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov\/SEdecade\/SEdecade2041.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">August 22, 2044<\/a>, but during that eclipse totality will only occur over North Dakota and Montana.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag47000q356rq9kf0mt6@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The next total solar eclipse with a coast-to-coast path spanning the Lower 48 states will take place on August 12, 2045. The path of totality will arc over California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, with a partial eclipse visible across other states.\n    <\/p>\n<p>       <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/2026-04-18t031636z-356486608-rc22xhaf3t5g-rtrmadp-3-travel-cm-cairo.jpg\" alt=\"Egypt's pyramids Spain may have lucked out this year and next year regarding eclipse visibility, but other countries are about to get their turn, French said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag47000t356ricfqo7gz@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cAustralia is getting a kind of unbelievable string of four total eclipses in 10 years starting in 2028, all passing through major cities,\u201d he said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag47000u356rj1ky9l02@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            French, who was able to witness Wednesday\u2019s eclipse from Spain while celebrating his birthday, championed the idea of booking in advance \u2014 especially for accommodations.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag47000v356r7u6s9i9t@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cEclipse paths are relatively narrow, so it tends to be hotels and accommodations that book out and get really expensive way sooner than the flights do,\u201d French advised.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmsdmag48000w356rnz7jewoj@published\" data-editable=\"text\"
