JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A retired substitute teacher from Jacksonville submitted two entries a day and still doubted when an email she received said she had won a $1.3 million home from HGTV.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t believe it at first,\u201d said Karen Hiers, 77, who lives with her husband, Bill, of 55 years.<\/p>\n
But it was true. The Hiers are now proud owners of a 3,000-square-foot fully-furnished HGTV smart home home in Orlando they can share with their two children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.<\/p>\n
They can also spend $100,000 in cash the couple received as part of the HGTV giveaway.<\/p>\n
