On patrol with police tackling farm-targeting gangs
Urban gangs – some with international links – have been infiltrating quiet corners in North Yorkshire, Shropshire, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, and wreaking havoc.
Farmers have seen balaclava-clad men staking out their land; joyriding over the moors on quad bikes; executing targeted attacks on farmyards and barns to steal tractors, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), livestock, power tools and even copper wiring or metal for scrap.
