The Guardian’s William Christou reports from Beirut on a pattern of attacks against Lebanon’s woodland that emergency services, residents and environmental groups say are part of a longstanding Israeli practice of targeting Lebanon’s natural environment to render it uninhabitable.
The Israeli military said its operations were “conducted while taking precautionary measures to mitigate harm to civilians and the environment”.
