Reform UK unveils ‘Operation Fortress’ to stop Channel crossings

Reform UK has announced ‘Operation Fortress’, a proposal to deploy the Royal Navy in the English Channel to intercept small boats and return migrants to France or Belgium.

Leader Nigel Farage says the party could stop the crossings “in a fortnight”, while Reform’s Home Affairs spokesperson Zia Yusuf described it as the largest military operation in the Channel since the Second World War.

France’s Interior Ministry has criticised the proposal, saying it would violate French sovereignty, maritime law and international law.

  1. No need, according to the government and their propaganda channels ha e claimed small boat crossings are down by 50% 😂😂😂

As if anyone believes that bollocks

  2. not only illegal and going to causde an international incident but also pointlessly expensive given a single man and three monitor setup can monitor 12 unmanned dart drones 2km apart covering 24 km of coast per drone operator and pop said boats without the need of a destroyer – this is just an expensive way of sounding tough, its not actually efficient or well thought through.

  3. so… if they promise the royal marines will disembark people on french shores with or without the french govt's agreement, does this mean that the royal marines will shoot at french police if they try to intervene?

  4. Complete pack of lies designed to rally reform voters before his by-election against a comedy act that scares him. Which has entirely been a mess of his own making for wait for it, more lies.
