Moment French police slash migrant ‘taxi boat’
French police have boarded 12 migrant “taxi boats” in their first interceptions at sea since the UK signed a new £662m deal to curb Channel crossings.
The disclosure by the Home Office came as officials also released footage of police officers using Pava spray to disperse migrants trying to launch their boat from the beach, before deflating the dinghy by slashing it with a knife.
The footage showed officers being attacked by the migrants, who threw sand and rocks at them while trying, unsuccessfully, to launch the dinghy from the beach.
