I thought it meant just thanks (like tusen takk as “a thousand thanks”) but apparently in Iceland it’s also a polite request. Maybe it could be used in a similar way in Norwegian? [takk wiktionary](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/takk)

Well technically the way you should say it is yea and cofee, thank you. But that’s not correct english so it becomes please. Witch is mostly ver so snill. Witch would be said in English as would you be so kind.

[In Norwegian](https://naob.no/ordbok/takk_2). And it doesn’t mean please, but it’s sometimes used in the same place you would use please in English.
