Maltese Cold War Violence history

Hello, does anyone know any videos to learn more about our history of cold war violence between the nationalist and labour parties? Thusfar, all I have is the following video: https://youtu.be/2EuTMEJcOsg?si=HX8NnfBvMH7ugVeG

  1. I’d be interested as well in any written material too, online or books.

  2. Wasn’t there a mass exodus with people going to Canada, UK, and Australia?

Didn’t the Gaddafi family have significant influence over the government then?

  3. Yeah you can tell the bias immediately from the first few seconds of the video. “His crusade was against the Catholic Church of which 90% was a member at the time” – yeah give me a break. He took quite normal steps to curtail the power of the Catholic Church e.g. by introducing civil marriages/expropriating church property to provide to families requiring housing/separating church from state. “He cosied up to the world’s most unpopular leaders” – Gaddafi offered Malta aid money in the form of grants and provided Malta with cheap oil during the oil crisis – on the other hand, the IMF and EC had instructed Malta that in order to have an association agreement and receive aid to build up the economy, they must privatise key domestic industries and assets, and remove capital controls. Mintoff built the country and laid the foundations for Malta to become a modern state
