In the LOD app definition the lady pronounces it more like “ja” but in the two examples given it sounds more like “jo” with a clear O sound.
When I hear regular Luxemburgish people say it it sounds a bit more like a “ja”
When is it pronounced like jo and when is it pronounced like ja? Does it depend on the dialect or the situation?
Edit: it seems the difference is more like English O as in “hot” or O as in “yo-yo”

I think it’s just a personal preference, the contextual meaning doesn’t really change
“Your”
To me: None of those examples is a (German) ‘ja’. The ‘o’ sounds different, yes, but it’s still ‘jo’ in both cases. M
As for when to use which: imho, it’s just whatever the speaker wants to use. (As long as it’s not an actual ‘A’ as in ‘ja’.)
Personally, I go with the LOD lady version.
Like “Yo!” At least where I come from.
It’s pretty much the same, just the 2 men pronounce it a little more old fashioned.
