I know this is just basic, ordinary potatoes, but I really love potatoes cooked this way, a little salty and very tasty. What is this potato called in Finnish? Also, does anyone know how it is cooked? It looks like it is fried in oil? Or is it coated with oil and then baked in the oven?

Looks like basic fried potatoes. I usually pre-boil them in salty water until almost cooked through. You can then finish them in oil and whatever spices you want either in the oven, grill or in a frying pan (Muurikka pan is great for these).
Making great fried potatoes is a science in itself.
