On the evening of June 17, rescuers pulled the body of a young man from the rubble of a building in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district. His parents had been waiting all day for news under the ruins. He was identified as Dmytro Isaienko.
This was reported by the Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University:
“Bright memory to Dmytro Isaienko…
In these terrible days, the hearts of Ukrainians are breaking with pain… This is the young man whose fate the entire country was following.
The parents, who stood by the ruins of the destroyed building waiting for their son, praying and never leaving… We all prayed with them. Their photos spread around the world, becoming a symbol of pain and hope… But the miracle did not happen,” the post reads.
Dmytro was a first-year grad student at Drahomanov University in the Department of Physical Education, Sports, and Health.
“He was only 31. Young, bright, kind. Dmytro was a good friend, a worthy son, an inspiring person… He lived, studied, believed in life – until the war took him away,” message read.
Dmytro was passionate about stand-up comedy. He also loved mountain climbing. Notably, in 2023, he climbed Mount Breskul.
“Four days, four peaks, four people, 400 grams of coffee. The mood swings from ‘I want to live here’ to ‘I might just jump off the slope.’ Testing physical and mental limits. Though none of this compares to what our guys endure on the frontline. Seeing how incredible our homeland is, you understand what the fight is for. But whatever the journey, it’s never enough in the end. Take care of yourselves and glory to Ukraine,” Dmytro wrote about his climb.

Such a sad loss, the guy is about my age. No one deserves to die this way.

Russia needs to be stopped.
Fuck Russia! It makes me so angry that as a man full of love and compassion that I can have so much primal hatred for them. Even from across the world their vileness seeps into us.
Sad
Parents should never burry their children.
Russians don’t understand what Putin is doing to all their futures. Pariahs. Trash. Accomplices.
