For stocking up early, or if you are a new grandparent and need a sewing tin.

  1. Why does it just have to be grandparents? My parents’ sewing kit has been in one of these for as long as I can remember, and my own is in a tin I’ve had since being a child.

  2. Oh good for you, a new sewing kit. I hope you enjoy it.

  3. This comment is a safe space for those of us who actually like the biscuits. Come, friends.

  4. Just remember, you aren’t allowed to grab more of the good ones (with the sugar crystals) until the whole layer is finished.

  5. I just got a huge tin from the souvenir shop at Copenhagen airport, but admittedly that might not be practical for all.

  6. My sister once accidentally bought a whole case of these as opposed to one tin and it was fantastic – enough biscuits to cover gifts for a while.

  7. I see them in the major supermarkets. Not that hard to find without sewing threads and needles.

  8. Growing up and seeing these tins about as a kid, at my nans house, aunts and my own parents… and always filled with sewing supplies.

I never got to try them until I was in my late teens towards the end of the 90’s… and I was ultimately disappointed… kinda bland.

I think I make better cookies and shortbread than them.

  9. I’ve seen some in Iceland.

I may go back and buy some and keep my Warhammer in them.

I hope my grandchildren will appreciate finding Nurgle and Death Guard.

  10. Iceland always do a huge tin of these for £5 with their Christmas stock. Got one last year.

  11. Seen them at Sainsbury’s on the seasonal aisle for Diwali
