It would be strange to say I’m “glad” to hear this, but she was so sharp, so intelligent, and her mind was robbed by that awful disease for years, and she lost her wonderful husband, her only connection to the past she could remember. Blessed relief I suppose is a better term, no one should have to suffer like she did.

    We’ve only just rewatched all of Fawlty Towers again, one of the greats.

  7. Feeling quite sad for her two sons this morning who have lost both parents within the space of a year. But glad she didn’t have to live without Timothy for long.

  12. I hate the term ‘battle’. A ‘dementia battle’ is like battling lava once you fall in. There’s never going to be a win just a horrible painful death. When medical science defeats Alz & other dementias the world won’t have to lose people like Prunella Scales a decade before their life ends.
