OpenAI has launched a dedicated “ChatGPT for Small Businesses” program aimed at helping entrepreneurs and small-business owners boost productivity and scale operations. Designed specifically for lean teams operating under resource constraints, the initiative positions generative and agentic AI as an operational “force multiplier” to extend domain expertise, expand capacity, and streamline multi-role workloads across sales, finance, operations, and marketing.

As part of the rollout, OpenAI will host hands-on virtual training sessions focused on practical applications of ChatGPT Work across accounting, marketing, and e-commerce workflows. Participating businesses will gain access to custom prompt libraries, workflow templates, and automation examples, alongside partner-led webinars and live Q&A sessions aimed at reducing technical barriers to entry.

To complement digital training, the company is expanding its OpenAI Academy footprint by establishing in-person Small Business AI Academies across the United States. Building on its prior “Small Business AI Jams”—where 78% of attendees created functional AI workflows in a single day—the workshops will offer guided instruction and peer-learning opportunities. To further accelerate onboarding, OpenAI is introducing a centralized resource hub featuring interactive workflow guides, customer case studies, and short-form video tutorials.

The initiative also significantly deepens ChatGPT’s enterprise ecosystem through targeted integrations and specialized agents developed with key software partners, including Shopify, Intuit, Dropbox, Slack, Atlassian, and Wix. These integrations allow small businesses to embed AI directly into existing operational stacks, automating routine administrative tasks while providing OpenAI with direct user feedback to inform future product development
