BACK in 2015, staff working at a US division of banking giant UBS were trying to decide whether they should accept a Russian billionaire as a client.

The bank’s own ‘negative news screening’ process uncovered hundreds of media articles covering potentially shady practices.

It has now emerged that UBS ignored claims that the billionaire:
