  1. Salient figures:

    >Specifically, the cost of the Standard with Ads plan has risen 33.4% from £5.99 to £7.99 a month. The price for the Standard tier is up 7.7% from £12.99 to £13.99, while Premium has gone from £18.99 to £20.99, a 10.5% uptick.

  2. I get Netflix free with my sim only deal and I still 🏴‍☠️ Netflix shows. They’ve been greedy and rubbish for years and when they stopped the account sharing was when I stopped giving them money.

  3. My TV remote comes with a netflix button but it’s pricing itself out the market, I’ve seen 90% and unless they bring back mindhunter I’m not coming back sadly

  4. Every year, and the value isn’t matching the added expenses. Know lots of people cancelling. Everyone at work other than me seems to have a dodgy stick.

They really are going to shit the bed with streaming until it’s just an even worse version of sky

  5. Cancelled my membership ages ago. Mostly full of trash. All these companies squeezing every penny from consumers. Mad to think we used to have sky because everything was all in one place. Now everything has a subscription that increases every few months. Fuck these companies.

  6. Good thing I switched to Disney+ ages ago. Their library is so much better.

  7. We really do need to get rid of assumed consent to increasing bills.

If a subscription wants to increase its prices, then that’s fine. But it better give a bunch of notice. And when the day finally comes that their price increases, all the subscriptions are paused. If you want to carry on paying and consent to the increase prices, you must manually click a box and agree to the price increase.

But if you don’t consent, your subscription cancels automatically. If you do nothing, then your subscription will remain paused and eventually cancelled.

There’s loads of ppl who keep paying subscriptions and either forget or can’t be bothered to cancel. And so by making price increases pause those subscriptions will make these companies think twice about increasing their prices, as they’ll potentially lose money rather than gain it.

  8. Pay more cus they have to fund the $250m piece of shit films they churn out for people to watch and forget in a day

  9. Netflix library is a bag of shite these days. Thanks for reminding I need to cancel it.

  10. I’d yaaaargue they’ll lose a fair bit of subscriptions as a result of this mateys

  11. I was thinking about cancelling as my Netflix usage in general has gone down alot recently but now it seems like they have given me the push I needed.

  12. I am gonna cancel my sub, i have been thinking about it for a while, there’s nothing worth watching on it really anyway.

  13. Looks like I’ll have to pirate their content a bit harder then.

  14. I really do wonder who thinks Netflix is worth £14, let alone £21 a month. Most of their own output consists of a half decent premise for a 90 minute film somehow padded out to a punishing thirteen 45 minute episodes, or underwritten direct to video films except they’ve paid for someone you’ve actually heard of to appear in them.

  15. Got free Netflix (with ads) with virgin media, hopefully VM won’t pass on the cost to their customers

  16. there’s subscription for everything and they hike the prices all the time

  17. I used to subscribe to Premium, but once they stopped allowing me to share passwords I cancelled. I paid for 4 screens at once, it should be down to me to decide who sees those 4 screens. No matter, I sail the high seas now and get access to whatever I want, whenever I want for far less expense.

  18. They could just make a couple less shite programmes per year and pass the savings onto us

  19. I genuinely don’t understand how it’s allowed or permitted for companies to unilaterally raise subscription prices.

  20. Netflix is like a shite YouTube now, which is saying something. May they continue pricing themselves into the grave.

  21. man those data centers are getting expensive arent they? Might need some more to keep costs down /s.

  22. How does Netflix somehow feel essential to me but gradually increasingly shittier

  23. Ah great, another American corporation screwing us all over again…

  24. Cancelled it when alley cats came out and they championed it as a flagship program. If that’s their new level, it ain’t for me.

  25. It’s £3.60 a month when you sign up in Nigeria I shit you not, ask me how I know.. and no I am not a Nigerian prince either.

  26. Anyone who pays twenty one English pounds a month for Netflix is daft as they come

  27. Damn, that’s going to increase my Netflix costs by a third again.

Let me see, 1.33 * 0.. ouch, that’s going to show up on the household budget.

  28. We haven’t missed Netflix in our house for the past year. Really dreadful service that should not cost this much.

  29. Serious question – am I the only one who feels like there’s less and less good stuff out while prices keep shooting up?

In the past I couldn’t watch all the stuff I was interested for even if I tried to.

Today, I have less time than ever for TV, yet I often wait weeks and weeks til there’s some new release I really care for

  30. I totally advocate for Piracy in this Day and Age.

If Buying isnt even Owning Anymore, then how the hell can Piracy be Stealing?

  31. Fuck them. My wife gets our Netflix for £3 with her country’s bank card (and we had to use VPN to subscribe from that country). There’s no way I’d pay this much with ads, they are not even that good for movies.
