Found this flyer in my post box today in favour of the neutrality initiative, with what looks to be John Lennon on it. It's not the first flyer about the initiative I get, but definitely the first of this kind. Is it even legal to just print a famous person on political material like this? To me, this implies that the person supports the cause (difficult in this case…).

Previously I got another one in the form of a newspaper, this time implying (IMO) that the contents of the flyer are to be trusted as you would a newspaper…

In any case, I find it despicable how some of these flyers are marketed.

  1. Seeing these flyers is already a reason to vote NO. I’ve rarely seen such misleading propaganda for a referendum.

  4. You should have seen some the booklets I got in favor of the 10-mio initiative, objectively false and misleading statistics published as facts. This is only going to get worse.

  7. The ferocity of and money that went into this campaign are kind of unexpected to me. I mean, I already knew that the SVP are a bunch of traitors,but this is crazy.

  12. Haven’t read the votation booklet but I can’t understand the point of the referendum. Switzerland already is neutral and does not take part in conflict.

    Too much ads about this one already makes me want to vote no.

    It’s obvious that they don’t care about policy. They literally think their constituence are dumb enough to buy this heinous propaganda.

    They have no intrest whatsoever in actually informing their voters or convince them based on arguments. They expect their voters to be dumb enough, leaving it to your “betters” to decide for you.

    That’s not representation at all but manipulation and instrumentalisation.

    This is the most dishonest shiat I’ve ever seen.

    If the SVP does not lose massively in the next elections, then it’s a sign that we as a country have grown brainless SVP zombies lacking basic media literacy.

    So basically voting for SVP now means you are stupid enough to be instrumentalized by the SVP with obvious pro Russian propaganda. A party that evidently does not care about you, thinking you are too backward to get being played, yet only sees you as a means to gain power.

    What a disgrace of a party.

    There genuinely should be a inquiry intonthe legality of that party.
