Is it really that hard to just enforce a blanket ban on child marriage, if you want to live in the uk, then you have to follow one easy rule, don’t marry a kid ffs

Serious question, without googling I presume these arranged marriages are due to religious beliefs?
In 2022 the force marriage unit (an official government unit) provided the following statistics.
The below are where cases of forced marriage took place. From the .gov website: “This could be the country where the forced marriage (or FGM) is due to take place, the country where it has taken place, and/or the country that the spouse is currently residing in.”
I’m sure it must have changed drastically since 2022 right, but they still say its not an issue specific to one country or religion despite all of these sharing the same religion, the top two used to be the same country and number 4 shares the same ethnic groups as number 1.
I’m sure this isn’t correlated with a particular religion that was founded by a child rapist.

* Bangladesh 41 cases (14%)
* India 20 cases (7%)
