  1. How about we define ourselves as a nation that stays well the fuck clear of it all?

Oh and stop selling arms to Israel whilst we’re at it because quite frankly that IS getting involved.

  2. As a millennial, how many more of ‘define country for a generation’ will I need to go through?

  3. If we could have less generational events per year, that’d be great

  4. Cool. I’ll add it to the list of generational things I’ve experienced.

Got any others, just while I’m doing it?

  5. If the rules-based order is fading, the real issue is that we’ve built an economy around finance, not production.

That’s a national security vulnerability in a multipolar world.

  6. This is a bit of a first-world problem and perhaps a bit selfish but I am curious, has anyone tried booking flights recently? Has this crisis made air travel prices skyrocket? I had a quick check and the prices I saw actually still seem fairly reasonable, which surprised me.

  7. Probably my 6th ‘once in a generation’ event before 33.

  8. The “Once In A Generation” events I have lived through:

    Fall of the Berlin Wall

    Black Wednesday

    The Good Friday Agreement

    9/11

    2008 Financial Crisis

    Scottish Independence Referendum

    Brexit

    COVID

    Now the Iran War

Can we leave some things to the next generation, please? I think we are being a bit greedy here.

  9. Why is the UK so acutely unresilient to global events? I swear all it takes is a crisis across the globe and we’re straight back into austerity and managed decline.

  10. This is about the 5th ‘generational’ thing I’ve lived through and I’m not even 30 yet.

  11. I’m 41 I would just like a year where nothing happens please just once

  12. My generation has been defined by a once in a lifetime financial crash (happened 3 times now), a once in a lifetime pandemic (which lead to another financial crash) and now another war.

Obviously it isn’t any British party’s/politicians fault for this current shit-show, but it sure does suck to be the generation constantly shafted. I know every generation has it’s issues of their time, but ours seem to be the worst since WW2.

  13. Why can’t we just get Mi6 or someone to slip something into his daily Big Mac and give us all some peace and quite for a change.

  14. “affect the future of our country”

    No it won’t.

“no matter how fierce this storm, we are well-placed to weather it”

    No we’re not.

What planet is this bloke on.

  15. Then it’s very important its legacy here is, “we took no part in a purposeless, unsuccessful and illegal war, but helped to find a good resolution”

  16. The post-WW2 peace is actually an aberration. The whole of human history has been like what’s happening now

  17. Cool, sounds like he’s limbering us all up for further tax rises, please just manage the countries finances better and stop the waste and giveaways, will be voting you at the first opportunity.

  18. Didn’t Klaus Schwab say this would happen all around 2026/27?

  19. Two faced bastard. If it’s not our war, stop arming the aggressors and letting them use our air bases.

  20. We’ve been out in cold now for to long, we’ve seen how the world is.
Maybe now people will accept we were better off with the EU and agree that rejoining is the best move.

  21. Unprecedented times, with this mollusc in charge. What could possibly go wrong..?

  22. Emergration has defined the country more than anything else. This needs a lot of work or the country will split apart like durle to been too diverse

  23. Can we now start taxing Americans more at the airport for what they have cost this country and everyone in it?

  24. “NATO is a paper tiger – and Putin knows that too by the way” – Donald Trump.
Oh – then Putin and the Kremlin won’t mind us inching a little bit more eastward then 😉

  25. He means by letting millions of them in and making taxpayers fund them.
