Gardaí are appealing for information after the body of a woman was discovered in the canal in Tralee earlier today.
Gardaí are asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman.
The woman’s body was found in the water shortly before 1pm today on the canal walkway, between Tralee and Blennerville.
Gardaí say the woman’s body has been removed from the scene and taken to University Hospital Kerry pending formal identification, and the coroner has been notified.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding this incident or the identity of the woman to come forward.
She is believed to have been in her 50s or 60s, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and was wearing a red top, black leggings and white runners.
