A popular restaurant, located in the heart of Belfast City Centre, has announced its ‘indefinite’ closure just ahead of Christmas.

Bank Square Brasserie, which is locally owned by the married Jonnie and Lea Boyd, is situated behind the city’s Castle Court Shopping centre.

The restaurant is widely adored for its hearty seasonal dishes, cocktails, and special events such as wine nights.

However, after three years, the brasserie will be closing just before Christmas 2025..

Posting to Facebook, the couple said: “It is with regret that we announce that we will be closing indefinitely on 23 December.

“We want to thank our customers for the amazing support, the positive feedback and the incredible reviews through the years.

“We will hopefully see you again on our next adventure.

“We want to say thank you to our staff, friends and family. We could not have done it without you. Thank you for believing in us.”

The couple added that those with a voucher should use them before the restaurant or get in touch.

Following the news, the post has been flooded with comments by locals who have loved and supported the business over the years.

Expressing their sympathy, customers have been commenting to say they will miss their gorgeous vegan dishes, great service and wished the Boyds the best of luck in their next adventure.
