Dave’s Hot Chicken has humble beginnings. Starting in a parking lot, with portable fryers on folding tables in 2017, it cost its three founders and childhood friends—Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan and Tommy Rubenyan—just $900. Things quickly took off and, opening an East Hollywood brick-and-mortar restaurant shortly after, it’s now ‘America’s fastest-growing restaurant chain’.
You can now find the cult L.A.-born brand all over the States—having gained popularity with the backing of celebrity investors like Drake, Samuel L. Jackson and Usher—as well as in London. Having successfully crossed the pond, Dave’s Hot Chicken is set to open its first UK location outside of the capital this July.

Soon, Brummies will be able to learn what all the hype is about. Dave’s Hot Chicken will open at 56 New Street, transforming the Art Deco-style corner building into an intergalactic experience with UFO installations and sci-fi-inspired interiors. Plus, paying homage to its origins, expect graffiti inspired by L.A. artists Splatterhaus and Dehmq.
“Birmingham is a major moment for us – not only is it our first UK site outside London, it’s a statement about where we’re going next,” said Jim Attwood, Managing Director of Dave’s Hot Chicken UK. “We’re not just bringing the heat – we’re bringing a full-on experience. With our cosmic new design, bold flavours and prime location, we’re ready to blow minds in Birmingham and beyond.”
With a total of 102 covers, Birmingham’s menu will match Dave’s Hot Chicken London flagship on Shaftesbury Avenue, which still sees hour-long queues months past opening. With seven spice levels of Nashville-style hot chicken and several mouthwatering sides, tuck into signature sliders, tenders, top-loaded shakes, and slushers.
