Hey, all! Full-body workouts every day are a no-go — you need rest and recovery time. But there is one body part that trainers say it’s safe to work on daily. Take a look.

Work out your core daily

Trainer Stephanie Mansour recently spoke about how it’s safe to exercise your core every day because the muscles there — think abs, lower back, hips and pelvis — are smaller and recover faster than larger muscle groups like your quads or biceps.

Building a strong core improves posture, reduces back pain and helps with balance. Start with a five-minute routine of exercises like planks, crunches and mountain climbers. “You can add it to the end of your workout, or schedule it into another part of your daily routine so you will be sure to do it, like first thing in the morning after your cup of coffee or before you go to bed at night,” Mansour said. Beat boredom by throwing in some new exercises every so often. Flutter kicks, anyone? [Today]
