Skeletal remains found by homeless person in woods in SW Houston

The scene where the remains were found (KPRC 2)

Human skeletal remains were found in a wooded area in southwest Houston.

The remains were discovered by an unhoused person in the woods near 12800 Bissonnet Street.

Officials with Houston Police Department were alerted to the situation. Reports indicate that the remains have been there “for a long time,” and the area was possibly a former homeless encampment.

HPD homicide investigators are processing the scene.

The specific circumstances of the incident remain unclear at this time.
