Prince William and Kate Middleton have officially ditched Adelaide Cottage for their new “forever home,” Forest Lodge. And while the couple were initially planning to move in around Christmas, builders and staff worked overtime getting them into the home a full month early.
According to the Daily Mail, the royal couple were so grateful to be out of “cursed” Adelaide Cottage that they threw a thank you party at “The York Club” (a private club near their new house). Per a source, “The couple very sweetly just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has worked tirelessly to help.”

Another insider noted that “every part of Adelaide Cottage, sadly, had an unpleasant memory associated with it. It’s a lovely house and they started with such high hopes, but in the end they have experienced some of their most challenging times there as a family… Little wonder that William feels like it was cursed.”
A source previously told Daily Mail, “This is for the long term and it’s their intention to stay in Forest Lodge once he becomes king,” while another person noted “It’s a fresh start for them after three really tough years. They are looking forward to creating many happy memories in their new home and leaving some of the unhappier ones behind.”
