A man was found dead Thursday in the lake at Los Angeles’ MacArthur Park.
Officers responded around 5 p.m. Thursday to reports of a person wearing a backpack floating in the lake, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said they retrieved the body and attempted lifesaving measures. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the department reported.
Investigators indicated no signs of trauma. The man’s death was described by police as an “accident.”
The victim’s name and age were not immediately available, police said.
