Sofia Marie is back at the breakfast table, and the egg drama continues.
In case you missed it, a couple weeks ago Alex Drummond introduced eggs to baby Sofia for the very first time—and let’s just say it didn’t go well. Sofia gagged, made a face of pure betrayal, and spit the whole thing right out. Alex, ever the calm first-time mom, shared the moment with her own mother by saying Sofia is “not the biggest egg fan” and moved on with her day. Ree Drummond, however, was not so chill about it. She immediately texted in a flurry of grandma panic, demanding to know why her granddaughter was being fed an omelet and vowing to come get her. Obviously, the whole exchange had everyone cracking up.
And now there’s a sequel.
Alex shared an update on Instagram showing Sofia giving eggs another try, but this time, they skipped the omelet and went with scrambled. Same protein, but a different texture—and Sofia was still not having it.

In a new round of photos, Sofia can be seen wearing her “It’s Me, Hi, I’m the Baby It’s Me” bib while staring down a pile of scrambled eggs like they’ve personally offended her. Her tiny mouth is reluctantly chewing and her eyes say everything. And yes, she’s still gagging.

Naturally, Ree had something to say about this second offense against her grandbaby. Alex posted another round of texts from her her mom, which read: “STOP FEEDING HER OMELETS,” and, “SHE HATES EGGS WITH A PASSION.” And finally, the dramatic conclusion: “Not eating eggs in solidarity with Sofia.”

It’s safe to say “ReeRee” is still firmly on Team Sofia when it comes to this breakfast situation. And Alex? She’s just doing her best to follow the pediatrician’s guidance to introduce potential allergens—even if it means navigating another round of mealtime side-eyes.
We don’t know if Sofia will ever come around to eggs, but one thing’s for sure: Ree’s loyalty runs deep! And if scrambled doesn’t work, we’re a little nervous to see what happens when Alex suggests a quiche. 😂
