Neighbours fans have called for the resolution of one one unfinished storyline following last week’s episodes, which saw the Vaga-Murphy family — Remi, JJ, Dex — and Taye Obasi all flee in the terror.

Recent scenes saw the four leave to visit Remi’s father in Apollo Bay following the publication of an article about Cara’s classified police documents, which led to threats from the Linwell brothers.

Following those scenes, the official Instagram account shared a video in which the cast and crew said goodbye to Marley Williams (Dex) and Naomi Rukavina (Remi) after they wrapped, with Rukavina praising the soap showcasing a mixed race and queer family unit.

Interestingly, the video’s caption said that the duo had filmed “their final scenes (for now)” while Rukavina mentions in the video itself that she’ll be back, which has led to fans hoping that when Remi does return, a loose end will be dealt with.

The loose end in question is Remi’s amnesia following an accident earlier this year, which has left her without memories of her estranged wife Cara.

“Remi needs to remember Cara,” one fan wrote in the comments, while another said “we won’t know if Remi gets her memory back?” with a sad face emoji.

“I hope Cara and Remi get back together before the end of the show, to see Cara drive off and reunite with her wife as her memory returns would be amazing,” a third commented.

“This can’t be the end of Remi and Cara! Hoping they reunite,” another fan said, while a fifth wrote that “My guess would be that the final week builds up to Cara and Remi’s vow renewal?”

Taye has already come back to Erinsborough, while JJ is set to return soon as well. As noted above, the speculation is that Remi and Cara will get back together for the final episodes.

That’s not confirmed yet, but with production shut down and the finale set for December, it won’t be long before we find out.

Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Prime Video in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach Comedy.
