A television series that lingers in the imagination often possesses several instantly recognizable, super-enduring touchstones, those symbols and sights that bring the show’s world to mind.

For “Stranger Things,” the mega hit that first rolled onto Netflix in 2016, the visual and cultural hallmarks are impressively plentiful: ’80s fashion, mall food courts, 20-sided Dungeons & Dragons dice, Ghostbusters costumes.

And, of course, bikes. The kids of Hawkins, Indiana could often be found pedaling into adventure, which makes a biking event inspired by the Stranger-verse especially apt.

Round up your favorite Demigorgons and drop Vecna the deets: CicLAvia has partnered with Netflix for a special open streets event boasting ’80s moxie and bikes aplenty.

No bike? No sweat: People-powered movement is the theme of each CicLAvia event, so strut it, wheel it, dance it, groove it.

The location? It’s not the Upside Down but it is Melrose Avenue, an iconic shopping district that still, in parts, boasts authentically awesome ’80s flair.

The date? Nov. 23, which is the ideal moment to celebrate the kick-off of the fifth and final “Stranger Things” season.

Bring your bike by and pedal along four miles, between Fairfax and Vermont Avenues. Leg warmers are optional, as is a Ghostbusters uniform, but feel free to neon-out if you’re rad enough.

And we know you’re rad enough.

There’s a quest map, if you’d like to gather collectible stamps along the route, plus fan trivia, a costume show, and “Stranger Things”-inspired photo spots.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Netflix and ‘Stranger Things 5’ for Ciclavia — Melrose Ave,” shared the CicLAvia team.

“This partnership is a perfect blend of storytelling and public space reimagined. Like the show, CicLAvia opens up unexpected paths and reveals the unseen corners of our city.”

“By transforming Melrose into a car-free landscape alive with art, mobility, and joyful togetherness, we’re invited Angelenos to step into a world where imagination moves us; where every street becomes part of the narrative, every walk, skate, or ride an adventure.”

“It’s not just about closing roads — it’s about opening up possibilities. And while ‘Stranger Things 5’ offers ‘one last ride,’ CicLAvia is closing out its 2025 season with this fun fandom/pop-up park mash-up.”
