In its next step towards fitness-world domination, Hyrox has announced that it will launch 60 of its own gyms, known as Hyrox Performance Centers (HPCs), across the UK and Ireland by 2028.

The Performance Centers are purpose-built venues designed to replicate race-day conditions and specifications, providing enthusiasts with access to all the equipment and training they need to prepare for events. Athletes will also have the chance to work out with some of the sport’s top Elite 15 athletes and certified, Hyrox-trained performance coaches. Programming will be set by Hyrox’s training and education platform, Hyrox365.

Partnering with Everlast Gyms, Hyrox will open the first HPC doors to its rapidly growing community in Liverpool, Manchester and Dublin within the next six months. It will then roll out more gyms in key locations over the next few years.

Like competition arenas, these Centers are large rectangular spaces, with sled tracks – lined with the same turf used in official races – placed in the middle. Cardio equipment—SkiErgs, rowers, and curved treadmills – is stationed around the edges, and the area also features eight wall-ball targets, allowing you to work on event-specific skills.

‘It’s going to be a place where athletes at the beginning of their journey or seasoned pros can come to train and elevate their fitness or perform better in a Hyrox event,’ says George Crook, Hyrox’s global head of performance center.

While it all sounds promising, the only potential challenge is that these will be membership gyms running group sessions with a max capacity of around 30 people per class, suggesting – much like securing Hyrox tickets – that demand will fast outpace supply.

The Performance Center project began with two ‘test sites’ in Germany – one in Berlin and another in Lüneburg, just south of Hamburg – in late 2024. Gyms must apply to be considered for HPC status and only those with with proven coaching and operations excellence will be approved. HPCs alone will be allowed to use the title of ‘Hyrox gym’.

Douglas Gremmen, managing director of Hyrox 365, says HPCs would be introduced globally: ‘We’ve been amazed by the level of interest shown in the HPC model across all regions. In 2025 we expect to see HPC locations operating in most countries we currently service, as well as many more across our new markets including China, India and Brazil.’
