The Summer I Turned Pretty returns for its third and final season on July 16. And with it, fans unanswered questions regarding Conrad’s disappearance and his ongoing will-they won’t-they situation with Belly. From July 16, you’ll be able to watch the final 11 episodes on Prime Video, with a weekly programming release.
As for how the season will play out, the series may differ from how fans expect it to. In a recent interview with People, Jenny Han, the creator of the novels which inspired the show revealed that the final season ‘might not always happen in the way that [they]’re expecting.’
Christopher Briney, who stars as Conrad also warned fans that they shouldn’t be so convinced the season will go as they believe it will. In his cover story with Entertainment Weekly, he stated ‘You have not read the scripts!’ in response to Han who stated, ‘There are surprises. And there are things that aren’t exactly like the books.’

Given that the first two seasons received a bit of a shake-up – what with the introduction of Aunt Julia and Skye in the second series, as well as the Beach House almost getting sold – there are a lot of changes that could be added to the third season.
But rather than viewing this as a point of concern, Han has made sure that long-standing fans of the novel will be satisfied. ‘There are a couple of moments that people really love from the books that I knew that people were wanting to see,’ Han stated. ‘I wanted to make sure that I was going to really service those fans who’ve been following the story for a really long time.’
While it’s uncertain what exact changes will be made, Briney indicated that some of it may have something to do with which brother Belly ends up choosing in the end.
With just over a week to go, all will soon be revealed, but ultimately, Han’s aim is for fans to go on one final, fun journey with the characters in a way that reflects the change in age and maturity from the first season until now.
