TRANSFORM INTO A FLU SHOT CLINIC TOMORROW. EMILY. WELL, IT’S BEEN A TOUGH FLU SEASON FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE. AND TONIGHT, DOCTORS ARE CONCERNED LOW VACCINATION RATES COULD BE PART OF THE PROBLEM. SICK WITH THE FLU? TEDDY’S CLOSED. THAT’S THE SIGN OUTSIDE. TEDDY GALLAGHER’S IN FRANKLIN AFTER THE HEAD CHEF AND ANOTHER CHEF CAME DOWN WITH THE FLU. THE TEAM, THEY’RE MAKING THE CALL TO CLOSE THE DOORS ON A BUSY TRIVIA TUESDAY TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE STAYS SAFE. WE DON’T KNOW IF WE’VE PEAKED YET. DOCTORS SAY FLU SEASON IS SO UNPREDICTABLE, IT’S TOUGH TO KNOW IF WE’VE SEEN IT ALL, OR IF THE WORST IS YET TO COME. THERE’S A SAYING THAT IF YOU’VE SEEN ONE FLU SEASON, YOU’VE ONLY SEEN ONE FLU SEASON. IT’S JUST SO UNPREDICTABLE. SO FAR THIS SEASON, FOUR CHILDREN IN MASSACHUSETTS HAVE DIED FROM THE FLU, INCLUDING TWO IN BOSTON. OFFICIALS ARE PROVIDING FEW DETAILS ABOUT THE CASES, INCLUDING WHETHER OR NOT THE CHILDREN HAD BEEN VACCINATED. BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT MANY OF THESE ARE REALLY YOUNG CHILDREN, BUT CHILDREN WHO WERE ELIGIBLE FOR VACCINATION. NOW, IN AN EFFORT TO GET AS MANY PEOPLE VACCINATED AS POSSIBLE, FREE CLINICS ARE HAPPENING ACROSS THE STATE, INCLUDING THIS ONE IN SOMERVILLE. DOCTORS SAY ONLY 1 IN 3 BAY STATERS HAVE GOTTEN THE SHOT THIS SEASON. I’M REALLY CONCERNED IT’S NOT JUST IN THE YOUNGER AGE GROUP, IT’S EVERY AGE GROUP. EVEN WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE OVER 80 AGE GROUP, THAT’S ON THE DECREASE AS WELL. DOCTORS SAY IT’S NOT TOO LATE FOR YOU TO GET YOUR FLU SHOT. ED YOU MENTIONED THE FLU CLINIC HERE, THE FLU SHOT CLINIC HERE AT CITY HALL. IT’S TOMORROW MORNING STARTING AT 10 A.M., GOING UNTIL 2 P.M. NO APPOINTMENT OR INSURANCE
