Armed groups claim attacks across Mali • FRANCE 24 English

An Al-Qaeda-linked jihadist group said Saturday that its fighters had joined forces with Tuareg rebels to launch attacks against the army across junta-ruled Mali. Helicopters buzzed over Bamako and around the international airport and fighting was reported at a nearby military base in what was one of the most complex attacks in years in the impoverished west African country.

  1. Makes you wonder if the russians now regret having supported JNIM all the years the French were defending Mali now that they now have the job?

But I suppose it's a win-win for Putin; If Bamako stands he still gets to use their bases and their resources, if it falls hundreds of thousands morerefugees go to europe destabilising France ( lord knows they wont be goign to russia) and if the war stagnates the Afrika Korps mercenary group still gets paid Victory or defeat would mean they're no longer needed.
